Detection of surface changes from bathymetric point clouds and existing elevation models will address user stories including coastal monitoring, geomorphology, physical oceanography, etc. 2D Displacement measurement using DSM/DTM/DEM and optical images using sub- pixel image cross-correlation with spatial regularization for measuring submarine dune migration.

On April 4, 2018 the IQmulus coordinator presented IQmulus and the Norwegian follow-up project ANALYST at the EuroSDR workshop Use of algorithms on big DEM's. The workshop took place in Tønsberg, Norway. The workshop attracted 30 participants from nine European countries. As the workshop was focused on LIDAR data, the results of IQmulus matched the topic of the workshop well.

The IQmulus project addressed the challenge of taking geospatial point cloud and coverage data and interpreting it with functions such as interpolation, feature detection and change detection so that it could be more easily used for decision-making tasks. One key aspect of HR Wallingford’s role on the project was to investigate processing and visualising bathymetry datasets using the SeaZone holdings of bathymetry surveys. The purpose of this presentation is to describe and, where possible, demonstrate key visualisation applications developed at HR Wallingford.
